Happy graduates and their families celebrated their graduation from UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) at the College’s first in-person Graduation Ceremony since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The event, held on 11 December, 2021 at the Rotunda 3 Hall of the Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre, was well attended by graduates and their guests/families. Addressing the graduates via video, Vice-chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Professor Patricia M. Davidson, congratulated the graduates and commended UOWCHK staff for organizing the event. In her Occasional Address for the event, the Australian Consul General for Hong Kong and Macau, Ms Elizabeth Ward, said UOWCHK graduates would join more than 100,000 Australian alumni in Hong Kong, and encouraged them to persuade others to pursue an Australian education. Ms Vanessa Bourne, President of UOWCHK, said it was the first time that graduates from all programmes at the College celebrate their graduation in one ceremony. The number of graduates, from UOW top-up degrees, UOWCHK bachelor degrees, associate degrees, and Diploma in General Studies, totaled nearly 1,900 this year. Mr Nicholas Brooke, Member of the College’s Board of Governors, was the Presiding Officer for the ceremony.
