Photo Competition: Each participant can submit a maximum of 5 photos

Award Presentation Ceremony

All winners will be invited to attend an awards presentation ceremony to be held at UOW College HK, Tai Wai Campus on January 19, 2024.

Terms and Conditions

• The entry must be the entrant's original work and must not infringe any copyright of any person. Additionally, the entry must be the entrant's first published work, which has never been published in any exhibitions, related events, or submitted to other competitions.

• All information presented in the photo must be cited, crediting the source. Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification. You do not need to include your citations in your photo. If chosen as a finalist, you must submit a list of your sources properly cited.

• No professional assistance is allowed. Adults may offer verbal guidance but are limited to only assisting with production. Adults are allowed to be actors but not content contributors.

• The entry must not contain obscene, violent, pornographic, defamatory, objectionable, insulting, or any controversial or inappropriate content.

• Content must comply with all local laws, and it must not:
  1. Promote illegal behavior,
  2. Support racial, religious, sexual, or other invidious prejudice,
  3. Advocate sexual or violent exploitation,
  4. Violate rights established by law or agreement,
  5. Invade the privacy of any person, or
  6. Be otherwise inappropriate, as determined by UOWCHK in its sole and conclusive determination.

• If CHOSEN AS A FINALIST, you must submit a signed/completed photo release form and a signed/completed Actor Release Form for each person appearing in your photo. Forms can be scanned and emailed.

• Students may submit as many photo entries as they wish. However, only one first-place prize will be awarded per student, and no student may receive more than two awards per contest cycle.

• The judges' decision is final. UOWCHK has full authority to make final decisions in all matters related to this competition, including the terms and conditions, prizes, and other arrangements without prior notification.

• Students should keep at least one copy of their photo. UOWCHK is not responsible for any photos that are lost, damaged, or do not upload properly.

• By accepting the prizes, winners agree to hold UOWCHK and all UOWCHK employees harmless against any claims and liability arising from the use of such prizes. The winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused by participation in the contest or the use/redemption of any prize.

• Entrants grant UOWCHK the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, and/or display the entrant's photos without further compensation or notification to the entrant.

• UOWCHK maintains the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, display, or exhibit the photos for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on its website, at conferences, or other venues.

• Entrants agree to be bound by the UOWCHK’s official contest rules and decisions. Entrants are regarded as accepting the above terms and conditions upon submitting the entry. Any violation of the terms and conditions may result in disqualification from the competition, subject to the final decision of UOWCHK. There is no appeal mechanism in this competition.

• The entrant must ensure that all provided information is genuine and correct. The entrant with dishonest or incorrect information, or who has been verified as such after a report, will be disqualified. The entrant should hold full responsibility for any loss caused to UOW College Hong Kong or any other third party.

• UOWCHK reserves the right to change the itinerary of the whole activity. All participants are responsible for determining whether to purchase personal insurance if needed.

Personal Data Collection Statement

• The personal data collected on this form will only be used for the purposes of this competition. Apart from that, UOWCHK will not use the personal data for any other purposes.

• The personal data provided by participants will be destroyed within 6 months after the competition, except for the data disclosed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
