Student English Enhancement Unit (Project SEE U)
Guidance sessions
It is often found that intensive guidance and individual attention from the teacher can assist students with their understanding and improvements in learning. In view of this, SEE U teachers seek to provide counselling service for any students in need. Students are welcome to make appointments with a SEE U teacher for an individual counselling session and they may also come in groups. The counselling sessions are conducted in a relaxing atmosphere and students can freely ask and discuss with the teacher any difficulty they have come across in use of English. Students are welcome to consult the teacher at these counselling session on English language usage for the purpose of writing their assignments for different subjects as well.
To encourage College students to make full use of the SEE U counselling service, SEE U teachers would also organize counselling sessions on designated topics of learning from time to time. These topics are associated with students’ learning in their formal English lessons, in particular, in the lectures organized by SEE U. In Semester A, the following specially designed “guidance sessions” have been organized for the benefit of students who have attended the relevant courses in the SEE U Foundation Improvement Courses series:

Some students find it difficult to speak fluently in English. Very often, the reason is that their mother language “母語” is hampering their ability to recognize the proper sounds to make in English. Teachers of this course are prepared to help students solve this problem with practical oral exercises.
