The Transport and Logistics Bureau (TLB) has launched the Internship Scheme on Modern Logistics to provide sponsorship to eligible logistics companies for recruiting interns to undertake duties relating to modern logistics. The Scheme aims to promote and support the sustainable development of the logistics industry, nurture talents and allow more young people to learn about the innovative and digital logistics technologies and operations in the modern logistics industry, so as to encourage them to join the logistics industry after graduation.

Eligibility
Hong Kong residents who are lawfully employable in Hong Kong, and currently* –

1. full-time students (including those who are in their final year of study)– undertaking undergraduate or sub-degree or diploma programmes in tertiary or training institutions in or outside Hong Kong; and

With the support of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) is going to launch the second edition of “2024/25 Arts Talents Internship Matching Programme” in early July. It aims to nurture and provide 18-month internship opportunities for talented graduates from tertiary institutions to enter the industry in their initial years. Targeted at various art forms and different positions within the industry, the Programme matches eligible graduates with arts organizations through a continuous mechanism, allowing them to gain experience through on-the-job training.

• Permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region aged 18 or above;
• Graduates of local or overseas university, obtained within the last 3 school years* while submitting the application

The Civil Service Bureau launched the Internship Programme for Non-ethnic Chinese Students (“NEC Programme”) with a view to helping young NEC students accumulate work experience and enhance their competitiveness for employment. So far, over 140 NEC students have participated in the NEC Programme.

Selected students will have their internship in different Government bureau and departments. The internship placements will generally involve providing administrative support in the day-to-day operation of the bureau/department and/or implementation of projects. Some of the placements may also specifically relate to the provision of public service to NEC communities in Hong Kong so that the interns can give play to their strengths in the knowledge of NEC languages and cultures.

Launched by Civil Service Bureau in 2016 with the dual aims of allowing students with disabilities to gain hands-on work experience in the Government, as well as enabling civil service colleagues to appreciate the talents and potential of persons with disabilities, the Scheme has been conducted with positive feedbacks in the previous years.

Interns will be posted to different Bureaux/Departments (B/Ds) for provision of support including general administration and/or policy support, human resource management, financial resource management, event management, system/project planning and development, and/or support to boards and councils, etc. Interns may also be required to perform non-administration duties. About five days of training/briefing will be provided by the B/D offering the internship place. A mentor will be assigned to each intern to assist them in adapting to the working environment.

A certificate of internship will be provided to the interns upon successful completion of their internship, depending on their attendance rate and performance.

To offer young generation an opportunity to have an early exposure to the wide spectrum of career opportunities in the aviation and maritime sectors so as to encourage them to join the two sectors after graduation, the Government established the “Maritime and Aviation Internship Scheme” (the Scheme) in 2014 to invite companies in the aviation and maritime sectors to offer internship places.

Eligibility
This initiative is open to the Hong Kong residents who are lawfully employable in Hong Kong and currently* –

1. full-time local students (including students who are in the final year of their study) undertaking undergraduate or sub-degree programmes in any local institutions; or
2. full-time students (including students who are in the final year of their study) undertaking undergraduate or sub-degree programmes in any institutions outside Hong Kong; or
3. secondary six school leavers

*excluding the students currently undertaking postgraduate programmes.

The primary objective of the ASSIP is to give students who wish to pursue an Administrative Officers (AO) career an opportunity to get hands-on experience of working with serving AOs, so as to facilitate their future career planning. Interns will be assigned duties similar in nature to those of AOs in different government bureaux or departments. They will also have the opportunity to visit various government offices and / or relevant public organisations.

Selection Criteria
Applicants must possess permanent resident status in the HKSAR. They must be students undergoing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies at a local, Mainland or overseas tertiary institution in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years, with a view to obtaining by summer 2025 or 2026 (i.e. by September) a bachelor’s degree. Applicants who are expected to graduate in 2025 (current Year 3 students) would be given higher priority.
In addition, applicants should fulfill the below requirements –

1. being committed to serve the community and with an interest in pursuing a career in the Administrative Service after graduation;
2. possessing leadership qualities;
3. being able to work in a team;
4. being active in community / school activities;

St. James’ Settlement Career Sparkle invites students to participate in the "Career Leaders Training Program 職係敢講@活動領袖訓練計劃 2024-2025 (Phase 1)". Through experiential learning activities, they hope the participants could increase their self-understanding and familiarize themselves with different professions, and develop various skills.

The details of this training program are as follow:

Target: Current Year 1 or Year 2 students

Duration: October 2024 to January 2025

Purpose: To explore self-understanding, discover personal abilities, enhance communication and collaboration, and master professional activity leadership skills; being a leader for the "Career Live" experiential game, guiding high school students to understand various job skills and plan for their future

Content: Team building training, personality tests, industry exploration, social media skills training, activity skills training, and leading the Career Live experiential game

Python is the most popular computer language in the modern world and it has a lot of applications. Most importantly, it is easy to learn and use even if you have no knowledge on computer language. The objective of this course is to introduce the basic concepts and code-writing skills of the computer program Python to the students. By adopting a step-by-step approach, participants can learn the basic coding skills of data analyses. Learning Python can open the doors to numerous career opportunities and enable you to work on a wide range of projects. This will enable the students to substantiate their CVs for future work or study.

3. Using functions in Python
4. Modules for Python – Panda, Matplotlib, Seaborne, Numpy

Administrative Officers (AO) are professional public administrators who play a key role in the HKSAR Government. They are involved in policy formulation, resource allocation, implementation of major government programmes and promotion of the interests of Hong Kong in the Mainland and overseas. The deadline for the AO application in 2024/25 is 4 October 2024 at 11:59pm (HK Time).

Entry Requirements
Candidates should have -

1. 
   
   1. A first or second class honours bachelor’s degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent; or
   2. A postgraduate degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent, where the qualifications considered in totality are comparable to the requirement in (a)(i);
2. A Pass in the Aptitude Test in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE)
3. A good command of both Chinese and English and have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 in the two language papers (Use of Chinese and Use of English) in the CRE, or equivalent; and
4. A pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades) (BLNST).

All completed application forms must be submitted on or before the deadline for application through on-line application system on the Civil Service Bureau's (CSB) website at www.csb.gov.hk.

They are launching a new, free pre-employment training bootcamp for Junior Data Engineer (JDE) targeting fresh graduates and first-time-job-seekers. A Tech Career Trajectory for Non-professional Degree Graduates
The 12-week pre-employment bootcamp aims to motivate fresh graduates and first-time-job-seekers to explore a career in the technology industry, specifically Junior Data Engineer.  The bootcamp leverages a unique, strengths-based talent development model, which provides youth a self-discovery journey and a different career trajectory for non-professional degree graduates without any academic or professional background.
In addition to training the youth with technical skills required to take on the JDE career, the bootcamp also put an emphasis on Behavioral-Skills-Mindset (BSM) training to support the smooth transition into the tech workplace. Each youth will also be matched with a mentor who will support them during the bootcamp and along their job seeking journey. 

Career Opportunities Upon Graduation from Bootcamp
Generation Hong Kong and their employer partners are working together to offer internship and full-time job opportunities for the bootcamp graduates, so they can gain valuable, hands-on work experience in the technology industry. The graduates will have a wide range of career options, such as Software Developer, Junior Data Analyst, Data Development and Management Specialist, Programmer.
