A select group of students from UOW College Hong Kong enjoyed a dialogue with visiting Board Chair of UOW Global Enterprises, Mr John Green. Also visiting were Ms Marisa Mastroianni, Group CEO and Managing Director for UOWGE, as well as Ms Jennifer Ng, CEO Asia. The one-hour session on 21 April was a casual yet lively and intellectual affair with students keen to find out more about UOW Global Enterprises and the opportunities that may be on offer in the future. They were also interested in the roles of Board Chair as well as Group CEO. On a personal level, they asked about Mr Green’s experience as a writer and the sources of his inspiration. The students represented a cross section of UOWCHK’s student population, and a microcosm of Hong Kong society, comprising no less than 5 nationalities or ethnic groups, including Pakistani, Filipino, Chinese, Swedish and Indonesian. The visitors asked the students about their desires and aspirations, what they would like to see more in their study curricula, their perspectives of the College’s marketing, and which might be their preferred destination if given a choice of doing a semester away from Hong Kong. Making good use of artificial intelligence, the students help record videos that were shown at the meeting and prepare a digital Flipbook entitled “Meeting Young Minds in Hong Kong”, in which they expressed a warm welcome for the visitors and their positive appreciation for the College and its teachers. At the conclusion of the session, Mr Green kindly commented that “Our UOWCHK students are awesome” on the digital page!
