Dr. Lau Ho Lam, from the Faculty of Science and Technology, was invited to deliver an AI seminar at Leung Shek Chee College on April 19, 2023. There were around 50 students who attended the seminar. The seminar covered various topics related to AI, from the basic introduction of AI to natural language processing and ChatGPT. Dr. Lau also discussed the potential impact of AI on society and the ethical considerations that need to be taken into account.
During the seminar, Dr. Lau emphasised the importance of developing AI systems that are transparent, accountable, and aligned with human values to ensure that they benefit society as a whole. Furthermore, he highlighted the need for interdisciplinary collaboration between experts in technology, ethics, and policy to address these complex issues.
The students welcomed the seminar and discussed the topics in depth during the Q&A session. Many of them expressed their interest in attending similar seminars in the future to further enhance their knowledge and skills.
