The first alumni gathering of UOWCHK was held at the Kowloon City Campus on 9 April 2022, both online and in-person. The event was attended by 64 alumni and their families, 42 of whom participated in the event online. The President, Ms. Vanessa Bourne, gave a warm welcome speech to start the event, followed by two video shows on the University of Wollongong and the College’s Kowloon City Campus just opened about a year ago. Telling the present and next step of development in the College, the Vice President (Planning), Dr. Charlie Choi, gave a vivid presentation, in particular, about the College’s new campus at Tai Wai expectedly available in 2024. The Associate Deans then presented outstanding alumni awards to Dr. KAI Mark, Educational Development Officer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. LAI Yik-Po, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies at the Education University of Hong Kong, Ms. TSANG Man-Wah, a business consultant currently employed at Arcadis, and Dr. Catherine LO, Assistant Professor in Maastricht University in the Netherlands. This video captures the joys of reunion with alumni, teachers and old friends as well as the awards presentation giving recognition to the College’s past graduates who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in our community after their graduation from the College.
