Students from the UOW College Hong Kong’s Diploma of Applied Education (DAE) displayed exemplary teamwork and sportsmanship in the Sports Fun Day organized by the Federation of Self-financing Tertiary Institutions (FSTE) on 17th November 2023. The team from UOWCHK took part in the dodgeball contest as part of the Life-Wide Learning (LWL) Day. Dodgeball is a team sport in which players must dodge or catch the balls. It is a great way to teach problem-solving, conflict resolution, and how to promote physical activity and whole-person development among students.
Although the 15-strong team including mathematics teacher Mr. Paul Yee (Number 10 in the pictures) did not win any prizes, they acquitted themselves well by battling through to the second round of the contest at Southorn Stadium. The LWL Day aimed at the whole-person development of students and enabled them to develop the lifelong learning capabilities that are needed in our ever-changing society.
