The purpose of the visit was to pay courtesy visits to key education partners and stakeholders in Hong Kong, keep abreast of recent education developments, trends, and opportunities, and discuss the strengthening of education collaborations between Australia and Hong Kong in the future. During the meeting, the college briefed the delegation on the background of UOW College Hong Kong and its linkage with the University of Wollongong. The delegation was introduced the collaboration with universities in China to offer associate degree programs, and pointed out that the articulation rate to Australia was very high, close to 40%, showing that Australia is still a preferable destination for education for mainland students. The delegation further talked about the support from the Education Department for students studying in Australia, such as providing information for part-time jobs, working holiday and obtaining permanent residency after graduation. The meeting was productive in sharing education values, aspirations of the college, and how the Australian government could support education development in Hong Kong. A group photo with the delegates was taken at the library to commemorate the visit.
