Students in the Creative Thinking for Media Design course (AST 10701) in the Faculty of Science and Technology at UOW College Hong Kong had great fun in the “Jack-O’-Lantern” event at Halloween. Initiated by Mr Garret Lai, Course Instructor, the event allowed students to showcase their pumpkin art pieces. The Jack-O'-Lanterns serve as one of the individual graded assignments for the students, allowing them to showcase their creative talents and demonstrate their achievement of the course's intended learning outcomes. Students were encouraged to use their imagination to craft interesting designs and exhibited them in the College’s new Design Studio.
All staff were invited to “embrace the spooky spirit” by participating as judges for the best designed Jack-O'-Lanterns created by students. Those who voted for the winning Jack-O'-Lantern will automatically be entered in a lucky draw for a separate gift sponsored by Garret.
