Professor David Currow, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Sustainable Futures) at the University of Wollongong, visited UOW College Hong Kong on 3rd October, 2023. Professor Currow is a physician by training, and was the former Chief Cancer Officer for New South Wales, and Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Institute, NSW, the state’s cancer control agency. During his visit to UOWCHK, he met with the management as well as researchers from the faculties of Arts & Humanities, Business, and Social Sciences, and PhD candidates studying at UOW. The meeting discussed how UOW could help the College speed up research and Professor Currow kindly offered to set up an online platform to make it easier for College staff to match the right researchers in UOW’s global campuses. He also suggested nominating a College representative to UOW's research committee to keep College members informed about research areas. All in all Professor Currow’s visit was a valuable opportunity to explore how research collaboration between the College and UOW could be enhanced. His expertise in research and sustainable futures provided valuable insights and recommendations for the College's future research endeavours.
