AI-based solutions are widely applied in business and in education. Use of AI technologies in education offers many benefits, including saving of time and effort, easier understanding by students, and enhanced teaching quality.
On 21st January 2023, the College conducted an online workshop to promote teachers’ awareness of these AI benefits for teaching. The workshop went through the AI theory, library, language tools, and procedures for problem identification. Dr. Lau shared a few AI tool demonstrations, including how to automatically write articles based on a few keywords to save time and how to paraphrase a paragraph with options to help improve students’ English language. Finally, he showed how to produce a video using an AI tool based on text content to boost teacher’s lesson plan. Dr. Choi gave a demonstration of how to utilise AI technologies to create poetry, refine and colourize pictures, and recreate video clips on pictures for use by history teachers. There were 23 sign-ups, and 12 attended the workshop. The workshop received strong favourable feedback from participants.
