To help teaching staff collaborate and brainstorm more effectively with their students, visualize ideas, and teach creatively, the College held a workshop to introduce the features of Microsoft Whiteboard on 6 October 2023. Microsoft Whiteboard is a basic whiteboard canvas for students and teachers to use to create and collaborate. The tool provides a set of colored pens, a highlighter, an eraser, a ruler, and a lasso tool for grouping elements on the board. It also allows users to add yellow sticky notes, images, and links to the whiteboard.
The techniques of how to draw straight lines, circles, triangles, insert documents, images, and videos, and how to invite participants to join through their smartphones were demonstrated. Other useful built-in templates such as Kano Map, SWOT Analysis, Moodboard and Gap Analysis to engage collaboration were also shown to participants. The templates provided a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making, making it easier for participants to contribute their ideas and opinions.
Participants left with a better understanding of how to use Microsoft Whiteboard and its built-in templates to increase their students' engagement and participation in the classroom.
