A group of prospective students were treated to introductory seminars and guided tours of the learning facilities in UOW College Hong Kong’s Information Day for two academic programmes under the Special Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP).
Students who are admitted to the two programmes, namely the Bachelor of Aviation (Honours) in Operations and Management (BavOM) and Bachelor of Maritime Services and Operations Management (Honours)(BMSOM), may qualify for SSSDP subsidies of up to HK$45,810 for the 2024-25 academic year. The scheme was introduced in 2015 to nurture talent in support of specific industries with keen demand for human resources.
On the Information Day, which took place over the weekend on 18 November 2023, introductory seminars were given by Programme Leaders of the two programmes, plus a flight simulation session for the BAVOM in the Aviation Laboratory and a guided tour of the Maritime Laboratory at UOWCHK. In addition, the Maritimes Services programme held a conference and a seminar in the week of November 21 as part of the events in the “HK Maritime Week”. If the enthusiastic questions from prospective students on the day are any indication, the College can look forward to seeing them in the next academic year!
More information on the programmes can be found on this website under “study programmes”.
