Students from ABA Financial Services have received the Outstanding Award in the Quest for Securities & Investment Elites (QSIE) Case Analysis Competition 2020.
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is one of the leading professional bodies for securities, investment, wealth and financial planning professionals. The CISI has been dedicated to professionalism since it emerged from the London Stock Exchange in 1992. The objective of the QSIE competition is to attract student participants to develop their interest and experience through case analysis, report writing and case presentation. Participants will acquire a high level of knowledge and learn that securities and investment are valuable in their planning for the future.
"QSIE is a 3-month competition in which I participated with my best friend met in UOWCHK during my first year. We came up with innovative ideas to solve real-life problems faced by properties holding companies and presented possible solutions to the judges. Fortunately, we managed to grab a place in the top 4 winners. I have never imagined having an experience like this in my very first study in post-secondary education. Having opportunities like this with my friends is amazing, and I will definitely participate in similar events in the future. Hope you would also give it a try like me!." (TSANG Pak Ho, Paco, ABAFS student)
"I participated and won in the QSIE Case Competition with my close friend Paco. The competition has enlightened us to refine our presentation skills by talking for longer periods of time and being more concise. We learnt to do critical thinking, plus the knowledge gained at UOWCHK to create scenarios to answer the questions and make recommendations. It was a great opportunity to compete with teams from other institutions and has definitely encouraged me to join more business competitions in the future. " (Sidharth, ABAFS student)
"There is no doubt that the competition is a meaningful and memorable experience for me. I have improved my knowledge and enhanced my ability to analyze the case assigned to me by using the finance and investment concepts learnt from my AD studies in the College. To be more specific, I am able to analyze the useful information of the company in the case according to the financial statements provided and then provide the company with some suggestions after the analysis. I have learnt to give valid and useful investment suggestions to investors." (MA Renzi, Laney, ABAFS student)
