UOW College Hong Kong hosted on 10 October 2024 a visit from the Committee on Self-financing Post-secondary Education (CSPE) which was established in 2012 by the Government of Hong Kong following the Higher Education Review by the University Grants Committee. The CSPE advises the Government on the development of the self-financing post-secondary education sector from macro and strategic perspectives. Led by its Chairman Ir Dr Alex Chan Siu-kun, SBS, the CSPE delegation also included representatives from the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, the University Grants Committee, and the Education Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. At the meeting the group explored important aspects and issues of UOWCHK’s development with its senior management, including its competitive edge in Hong Kong. CSPE Members gave valuable advice on UOWCHK’s branding and promotion strategies. The delegation was given a guided tour of the Tai Wai campus and showed much interest in some of the learning and student facilities such as the maritime and aviation laboratories, the library, and the fitness room.
