Senior officers from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. paid a visit to UOW College Hong Kong in early July 2024. Among the visitors to the Tai Wai campus were Deputy Director-General of Department of Social Affairs, Mr Zhou He; Deputy Director of Department of Social Affairs, Tian Gui Yu; and Mr. John Lee. The group was met by UOWCHK President Ms Currie Tsang and other senior management members of the College, followed by a meeting with the Social Work teaching team of the College. The Liaison Office senior officers offered ideas on how the College could achieve greater alignment of its social work programmes with the needs of the developing Greater Bay Area. Mr Zhou also rendered valuable advice on how to capture opportunities offered by the nation’s rapid development, leveraging the College’s unique strengths and features. The visitors were given a guided tour around the College campus, as Mr Zhou tried his hands on the aviation and marine navigation simulators in the laboratories.
