About 45 alumni of UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) reconnected with their alma mater at a casual but warmly conducted event on 11 November 2023. The alumni were updated about recent developments of the College, including the latest offers in academic programmes, vibrant student life and rigorous research. The occasion also enabled them to network among themselves as well as refresh contacts with their teachers.
Speaking at the occasion, UOWCHK President Ms Currie Tsang informed the alumni about developments on several fronts, including the progress of the College’s current Programme Area Accreditation with the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as an update on the granting of dual awards. “Passing this accreditation will enable the College to introduce a number of key new programmes in the designated areas,” she said.
Ms Tsang emphasized the College’s commitment to the personal and academic well-being of students. She called on those alumni to lend their help to enrich the learning opportunities of students, whether it be offering mentorship, internships or even simply by experience sharing sessions through guest lectures or workshops. Apart from sharing some recent student activities such as the UOW Australia Study Tour, Ms Tsang also informed the alumni that cross-campus mobility for students to campuses in Australia, Dubai, and Malaysia across the UOWGE Global Network will be enhanced as students’ horizons are broadened and a strong sense of identity is forged. The day ended with a guided tour of the state-of-the-art learning and other facilities at the Tai Wai campus of the College, and cordial chats at an afternoon tea session.
