Nearly 70 alumni of the College got together for the second annual alumni reunion of UOW College Hong Kong on 14 January 2023. Graduates from years ago were excited to learn about the transformation of the College from the former Community College of City University into a full-fledged member of the University of Wollongong. They also got an update on the latest progress of our new campus at Tai Wai, which will become operational in the summer of 2023. Alumni met with current teachers and reminisced about their times at the College, while the achievements of four special alumni were recognized with Outstanding Alumni Awards presented by Associate Deans of the faculties:
- Dr Lee Yat Hong, Instructor at the Chinese Language Centre, HK Polytechnic University (Faculty of Arts and Humanities)
- Mr Alex Ng, Director and Founder of D.A.C.K. Concept Limited (Hong Kong) (Faculty of Business)
- Mr Robert Sham, Manager, Government and Public Affairs, HK Air Cargo Limited (Faculty of Science and Technology)
- Ms Suwin Tsui, a Registered Social Worker who received the「女青人獎」之「女青生力軍」 from YWCA in 2019 (Faculty of Social Sciences)
The reunion was held at the Kowloon City Campus and online. The Acting President, Dr Charlie Choi, warmly welcomed all attendees and encouraged them to engage with the community while keeping in touch with the College. The award recipients shared their secrets of success and encouraged all graduates of the College to conduct themselves with humility and to persevere with their life goals.
