Tai Wai Campus of UOW College Hong Kong
UOW College Hong Kong (UOWCHK) celebrated the Official Grand Opening of its Tai Wai campus on September 15, 2023. It was a grand occasion with Chinese poetry recital performances by UOWCHK students, Australia-themed songs by students from the Australian International School Hong Kong, traditional lion dance, didgeridoo performance, capped by a roast pig cutting and toasting ceremony. The memorial plaque was unveiled by the Secretary for Education of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Dr. Choi Yuk Lin, JP, and Vice-chancellor and President of the University of Wollongong Professor Patricia M. Davidson. Guests enjoyed guided tours of the campus and commended its state-of-the-art learning facilities for teachers and students. Present at the occasion were the Australian Consul-General for Hong Kong and Macau, Chief Executive of the Australian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, Chair of UOWCHK Board of Governors, and senior representatives from the MTR Corporation, and other officials from the Hong Kong Government. The campus is imbued with the College's corporate colors and outlines of three wallabies, which are common for all global campuses of the University of Wollongong. The campus’ classrooms have been carefully designed for interactive teaching, with five lecture theatres, 34 classrooms, and 7 laboratories for specialized disciplines. Student facilities include a Library with e-resources, Gym, Dance Studio, Music Room, Student Association Room, and a Café.
